I've been meaning to tell you I don't believe it
Been meaning to say I think something's wrong
Every revelation is so deceiving
I’ve been blinded I followed far too long
You speak in riddles

Now I know why
I've come in out of the faith to reason - On High
An’ I can find my own way to the light
I've been turnin’ circles lost in confusion
Ya been pushin’ sickness so to sell your cure
Now your spell is broken I've no delusion
No doubt about it, no question, now I'm sure

You talk of heaven's sanctuary
You pray for things imaginary
Empty promises to keep us tithing
You walk among the meek and mild
You prey upon the helpless child

Casting off in search of virgin shores
I bid farewell to all I once adored
Never knowing what my fortunes hold
I'm sailing on where the four winds blow
Like secret whispers carried on the breeze
And silent monsters stirring in the seas
I feel the tension as the shadows grow
And face the storm as the four winds blow
Now I’m blinded by the driving rain
And the waves are crashing to and fro
Now I don’t know if it’s all in vain
When this flag once flown high is laid so low
Lost the stars within the myst of fate
No constellations to navigate
Now I’m drifting as the currents flow
Swept away where the four winds blow
Still I’m hopeful and I’m holding fast
‘Til the sunlight begins to show
And I'll remain right here tied to the mast
‘Til the standard that I fly, is once more soaring high, where I go

I see the eyes of all the human race
Watching the skies in search of any trace
In search of heaven with our outer space satellites
Communications beaming near and far
Transmitting messages of who we are
And seeking signs of life in distant stars fading light
Our weary world's growing older
And we're still out in the cold on our own
So long as we have each other to hold
We are not alone
I hear you praying for a state of grace
To ease the loneliness that we all face
And fill the empty places we all feel deep inside
Our souls upon a raging tempest tossed
And fearing paradise is all but lost
We cross our fingers as we cross the divide
Our weary world's growing older
And we're still out in the cold on our own
So long as we have each other to hold

We've got to decide if all our faith is thrown away
When every path we've tried leads so far astray
